Write for us
We welcome pitches that help a general reader understand a civic idea, document or process more clearly. Send proposals through the Contact page, with the subject of your pitch and a short explanation of why it matters to readers.
What we welcome
Strong proposals focus on one clear question about public institutions, decision-making, civic records, language or participation. Useful pieces explain distinctions, trace a process or make an unfamiliar document easier to understand without assuming specialist knowledge.
What makes a good pitch
Tell us the central question, the reader who might have it and the main point the piece would clarify. Include a brief outline and note any sources or expertise the work would rely on. Keep the scope manageable and flag where practices vary by place.
How to send it
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial option. A pitch is a proposal, not a commission; please do not send a full draft unless requested. We cannot promise a response time or publication.
Clarity is part of civic life
Public choices are easier to follow when the language and process are visible. We slow down the details so readers can find their bearings.
